It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? 1/30/2023 —

It’s Monday! What are you Reading is a weekly meme hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, a place to share and discuss what we’ve read in the past week and what we’re in the middle of or are planning to read this week.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.Jen Vincent, Teach Mentor Texts, and Kellee of Unleashing Readers decided to give It’s Monday! a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children’s literature – picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels or anything in those genres – join them.

Good morning, everyone!

Here’s to another week of extraordinary reads and hidden literary gems! This week, I’m reading…

I mentioned having a busy week last time, and limited read time… Somehow this week wasn’t much better on the reading front, but I did make some progress. I finished on book, and got a few important reviews reviews sent off, so I’m happy with that!

Find them below:

What I read last week:

3/5 Stars

Currently Reading:

The Black Crow Flies by LB Perdan –

I’m slowly reading this one. I’d wanted to be finished by now, since I’m already late with my review, but haven’t been able to actually get much reading done the last little while.

Regardless, it’s been an interesting read so far and I’m curious how it will end. Since it’s the first in a trilogy I’m suspecting a cliffhanger, but there’s so much going on I can’t wait to see!

The Peasant’s Choice by Charis Bell –

I tried to read this one last month (I think it was Dec?) but didn’t get very far. I’m trying again and am hoping to finish it this time.

Upcoming Reads:

Maddie Jo by Jodi Bayse –

I have been so tempted to just ahead and read this one before finishing my current read! I’m in a rutt and really want something a little different plus I know I love Jodi Bayse’s writing style!

We Were Real by Nadine C. Keels –

I had Yella’s Prayers here, and I am excited to read that one too, but as it’s one of Ms. Keels’ longer books, I think I’m going to read the shorter ones on my list first, since longer books are taking an abnormally long time for me to get through recently.

Recent DNFs:

Mojave Rift, it was okay but something about it didn’t sit well with me spiritually and I couldn’t bring myself to continue reading it.

Last Week’s Posts:

Until then! I hope you have a blessed week!
