Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. It starts each Friday and runs through the following Thursday. Each week, there’s a new prompt featuring a book-related question. It’s designed to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, make new blogging friends, and gain followers. See what others have to say on this topic and link up your own post here.

Do you use social media to keep up with your favorite authors?

I do! I didn’t used to, but when I started my blog (my first book blog) in 2016, I started an Instagram account for books (bookstagram, but I didn’t realize that was a thing until right around when I started my blog) and the world of indie books became apparent! Sure I’d heard of self-published books, but didn’t realize indie and small press books were a thing, or that there was a whole community both of bloggers and on social media where authors and readers can connect directly and build working relationships and friendship.
I’m picky about who I follow, but I’m also picky about what I read, so it works out well, as I get many of my eARCs and upcoming release updates this way! I have gotten to a point where I basically exclusively read indie books and a good 90%+ of my yearly reads in the last year or two were either books I saw recommended or reviewed on social media by people I follow, or were eARCs I got through social media connections.
I use Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Instagram is my #1 spot where I connect with my favorite authors, I like to find out what they are coming out with next and chatting about the books they have already published.

Same! I love keeping up with the latest WIP news and writing updates, plus some have blog tours or other events that they announce there that I like to join when I can.
